Forsmark 2 has been restarted

The Forsmark 2 reactor started generating power today. Restarting of the reactor was allowed after Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB submitted the results of the document examination required by SKI as a result of the inspection shortcomings on one piece of welding work in the reactor containment of Forsmark 2. No similar shortcomings were found in the examination.

More than 70 document files and around 200 000 items of information were reviewed in the examination. In two cases, Forsmark retained an accredited inspection company to carry out re-inspection, but no defect was found. In one case, a document was missing, but the inspection company had a copy of the document, which has now been inserted into the Forsmark documentation.
