Mats Fagerlund joins the management team of Vattenfall Europe
Mats Fagerlund joins the management team of Vattenfall Europe The supervisory board of Vattenfall Europe AG, the German company in the Vattenfall Group, yesterday evening appointed Mats Fagerlund to join the management board - Vorstand - as from 1 January 2004, with a posting in Berlin. Moreover, Mats Fagerlund will retain his group-wide responsibility for Legal Affairs and Mergers & Acquisitions, continue as steering group Chairman for Business Unit Poland, and remain member of Vattenfall's executive group management. In the Vattenfall group management, Mats Fagerlund has played a key role in company acquisitions in Germany since 1999 up to today, and has been a member of the supervisory board, first at HEW and then at Vattenfall Europe AG. In Vattenfall Europe AG, he succeeds Berndt-Olof Helzin whose three-year Vorstand deal expires at the 2003/2004 turn of the year. Berndt-Olof Helzin, formerly head of the electrical network operations in Sweden, Finland, and Poland, has built up and been in charge of the German Vattenfall Business Units Distribution and Transmission.
