Matts Ekman appointed First Executive Vice President and Klaus Rauscher appointed Senior Executive Vice President of Vattenfall The present Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Matts Ekman, has been appointed First Executive Vice President of Vattenfall AB. At the same time, Dr. Klaus Rauscher has been appointed as Senior Executive Vice President. In October 2001, Klaus Rauscher was named as President of Hamburgische Electricitätswerk AG, HEW. Last January, he was appointed President of the holding company Vattenfall Europe, and accordingly is leading the integration process for Vattenfall's German operations, which include the companies HEW, Bewag, VEAG and Laubag. The German operations currently account for 60 per cent of Vattenfall's total turnover, and this must be reflected in the composition of the Group management. Dr Rauscher has a key role in our further development into a leading European energy group," says Lars G Josefsson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vattenfall. Dr. Klaus Rauscher is 53 years old and came to Vattenfall after ten years as a member of the senior management of Bayerische Landesbank, Munich.
