New CFO at Vattenfall
New CFO at Vattenfall Matts P Ekman has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of Vattenfall. He will take up his new post on 1 February. Matts Ekman has worked for the Electrolux Group, where he has been Senior V.P. and Group Treasurer for almost 20 years and a member of the Group management for the last few years. Matts Ekman was born in 1946. He graduated from University of Lund in 1970 with a degree in business administration and economics, and subsequently gained an MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1971. After working briefly for the former Enskilda Banken, he took up an appointment with Gränges, which at the time was one of the most diversified and one of the financially strongest major groups in Sweden. He became head of Group staff Treasury in 1980. Following the Electrolux Group's acquisition of Gränges, Matts Ekman moved over to Electrolux in 1981 and he has been responsible for this company's finance function since then.
