New head of internal communications at Vattenfall
On 4 December Maria Dalmalm will be taking up her post as new head of internal communications at Vattenfall AB. She comes most recently from DHL, where she was environmental and performance manager.
One of the tasks of the head of internal communications is to create an understanding of and a commitment to Vattenfall’s ambition to be the first energy company in the world to be carbon neutral by 2050 at the latest.
“Work to counteract climate change is part of Vattenfall’s strategic focus. It’s important that all employees understand how this affects their work. That’s why we chose Maria Dalmalm, who has great expertise in communications and is also an environmental specialist,” says Carolina Wallenius, communications director at Vattenfall AB.
Dalmalm comes most recently from logistics company DHL and has a great deal of experience in working in a multinational corporation. DHL is part of Deutsche Post World Net, one of the world’s biggest companies, with 500 000 employees worldwide.
“At DHL my tasks included developing the world’s first carbon-neutral transport service and building up the internal environmental programme that was subsequently implemented at Deutsche Post throughout the world. It’s stimulating to work with climate change issues in companies that have a major impact on the climate, because that’s where you can make a real difference. This is one of the things I find exciting about Vattenfall,” says Dalmalm.
Dalmalm has also previously worked in the waste industry as a quality and environmental manager. She takes up her position at Vattenfall on 4 December and will replace Margareta Arvidsson, who is retiring.
