Nuclear Plants Brunsbüttel and Krümmel shut down

Report this content

Vattenfall’s German nuclear power plants in Brunsbüttel and Krümmel were shut down on Thursday afternoon.

Both shut downs were due to short circuits in the electricity grid. At Brunsbüttel a failure in the grid preceded the shut down. At Krümmel nuclear power plant, the shut down was caused by a fire in a power transformer. The transformer is located outside the reactor building on the Krümmel site.
