MEDIA INVITATION Vattenfall invites the media to a press conference on May 19 at 10.00 am on Vattenfall’s premises in Berlin, Chausseestr. 23, to inform about findings and conclusions from the company’s R&D project “The CO2-free power plant”.

Global climate change is one of the overriding environmental issues of our time. While emissions of greenhouse gases have a major impact on accelerating this process, fossil fuels such a natural gas, coal and lignite will remain indispensable in electricity generation for a long time to come. At Vattenfall, a comprehensive Research & Development project has been launched to explore the technological and economical potential of a CO2-free fossil power plant. Vattenfall’s President and CEO Lars G Josefsson and Dr. Klaus Rauscher, Chairman of the Management Board at Vattenfall Europe, will present the company’s strategy regarding future investments in fossil combustion technology. The meeting will be held in German language. Simultaneous interpretation to English and Polish will be available.
