Continued implementation of the new Group strategy

Vattenfall Europe AG and the German city Dresden have confirmed that EnergieVerbund Dresden GmbH (EVD) intends to acquire the 21.3% interest held by Vattenfall Europe AG in Energieversorgung Sachsen Ost AG (ENSO). The purchase contract has been signed; its effectiveness now remains subject only to approval of the Dresden city council. The purchase price will be € 147 million euros.  All parties work from the assumption that this share acquisition will meet with broad political support.

“The sale of our stake in ENSO is a further step into our new strategic direction where we are focusing on expanding our business in our core markets and streamlining our portfolio“, said Tuomo Hatakka, Senior Executive Vice President, Business Division Production and Senior Executive Vice President Vattenfall AB.
