Vattenfall continues to sponsor Swedish national ski team Vattenfall is to continue as the main sponsor of the Swedish cross-country skiing team. This collaboration began in 1994 and will now continue until at least 2004. "Vattenfall has thus proved to be an enduring and reliable partner," said the Swedish Ski Association in a press release on 6 February. "Our involvement in skiing has created a lot of goodwill for Vattenfall, both externally and internally. We have had a long-term attitude and this is bearing fruit now," said Vattenfall's President and CEO, Lars G Josefsson. Vattenfall has also sponsored the national alpine skiing team since 1997. Skiing attracted the largest television audience in Sweden during the Olympic Games last year. Cross-country skiing had the highest viewing figures, managing on one occasion to attract an audience of 2 925 000 viewers. Alpine skiing came second with 2 775 000 viewers.
