Vattenfall has set up two new Nordic generation units with the Generation Nordic business unit, one for Thermal Power and one for Wind Power. The Thermal Power unit will be headed by Bjarne Korshøj. The recruitment of the head of the Wind Power unit is still underway.

The Thermal Power unit will comprise the thermal power plants in Denmark that Vattenfall acquired recently, together with the thermal power plants that Vattenfall owns in Sweden, for example the plants at Stenungsund and Marviken. The Danish plants are the Nordjylland plant in Aalborg, the Fyn plant in Odense and the Amager plant in Copenhagen, as well as the plants in Helsingör and Hilleröd. The unit will have a total workforce of approximately 600 employees, almost all of whom will work in Denmark. The head of the unit, Director Bjarne Korshøj, has been head of planning at Elsam since 2004 with responsibility for generation optimisation, daily trading and the development of business opportunities for the existing power plants. He was also previously head of generation at the Studstrup plant in Århus. Bjarne Korshøj is 47 years old. The Wind Power unit will comprise all of Vattenfall’s wind power plants in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, including the onshore plants in Jylland, Fyn and Gotland and the offshore wind farms at Horns rev, Utgrunden and, later, the planned wind power project at Lillgrund. The unit will have a total of approximately 50 employees, most of them in Denmark.
