Vattenfall has now published its Corporate Social Responsibility Report for 2005.

The report addresses six topics that highlight how the company actively manages issues that are central to the development of a sustainable society: climate change, the nuclear fuel cycle, renewable energy, fossil fuels, security of supply and the role as a leader in the energy industry.

“The report illustrates what we do in the course of our day-to-day operations throughout the Vattenfall Group with a focus on our responsibility as a member of the society around us. I also see the report as an important tool for communicating our commitment on the climate issue. Taken as a whole, it presents a balanced and reasonable picture of our organisation’s economic, environmental and social performance,” says Vattenfall’s President and CEO, Lars G Josefsson.

Vattenfall’s CSR Report is based on the international standard for sustainability reporting Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and, for the first time, the report for 2005 is in full accordance with the criteria set by this standard. The first CSR Report that Vattenfall published was for 2003.
