Vattenfall's trading unit gains highest ranking at Nord Pool According to the "Rankings 2004 - The best in the business" study published in the February issue of the Energy Risk magazine, Vattenfall's Nordic electricity trading place at NordPool has been ranked number one. More than 200 banks, brokers, large electricity and energy consumers, and traders around the world have been asked to rank the best three trading units and the best two brokers in various raw material markets around the world. In this ranking, the Vattenfall trading unit was slotted ahead of the American Morgan Stanley investment bank and the Norwegian Statkraft energy utility. This is the first year that Energy Risk has included Nord Pool in its ranking. The ranking is based on the following criteria: good pricing, flexibility, market making, reliability, integrity and speed in business transactions. "It feels tremendously encouraging to receive confirmation that our trading place is the best in its class, which is very important in assuring Vattenfall and its customers of the best possible prices and service. Our ambition has been to develop both the market and products in order to be able to offer Vattenfall's in-house and outside customers the best possible risk management and price transparency," says Fredrik Adolfson, head of the Nordic trading place ("Electricity Bank") at the Supply & Trading Business Unit.
