Vattenfall to run industrial maintenance for Ferruform Ferruform AB in Luleå is transferring its industrial property maintenance work to Vattenfall, which will also be responsible for the maintenance of the company's local power network. This is the result of an agreement between the two companies. Vattenfall will act as a general contractor and carry out and be responsible for all the work previously performed by Ferruform's property management department. The joint aim is that the operation and maintenance of all the support systems needed for the process, for example power supply, ventilation and compressed air, should be run as economically as possible in both the short term and the long term. Services should continually improve and become more efficient. The parties are looking forward to a long-term and profitable co-operation. "We have chosen to contract out property maintenance so that we can increasingly focus our efforts on our own manufacturing process, where we have to be world-class. We chose Vattenfall from among the possible contractors as they have good local resources and cutting-edge competence in the field," says Peter Norman, Managing Director of Ferruform AB. "For Vattenfall, this undertaking represents one step in our major investment in industrial maintenance along the coast of Norrland in line with our customers wishes and needs," says Fredrik Holmgren, Managing Director of Vattenfall Kraft & IndustriService AB (VKIS). Vattenfall will also supply its product Färdig el, i.e. the company will be responsible for all power plants in the industrial area. Vattenfall will implement measures to improve the efficiency of energy use and to reduce environmental impact as part of the undertaking. Issued by Vattenfall's Press Office, telephone: 08-739 50 10.
