Vattenfall will launch a climate initiative, inviting individuals to sign a manifesto to make their voices heard as support for political decisions necessary to combat climate change.
Media are invited to the launch press conference, in Brussels Tuesday 30 September.

Venue: Place Luxembourg, Brussels.
Time: Tuesday 30th September.
13.30 Press conference.
14.00 Speech by Lars G Josefsson, CEO of Vattenfall.
16.00 End.

The climate issue is the biggest challenge of our time. To curb climate change political decisions are necessary. Vattenfall consider the most urgent issues to be the ones included in our climate manifesto:

1. A global price on CO2.
2. Support for climate-friendly technology.
3. Climate requirements for products.

The climate signature initiative invites everyone to sign the manifesto and make their voices heard as support for politicians to take the necessary decisions.

This initiative will start in Brussels, where most of Europe’s legislation regarding energy and environmental policies is passed and processed.

Ultimately the climate manifesto will be directed to the UN climate summit in Poznan in the end of 2008.
