The electricity generated from this solar farm will help reduce Germany’s dependence on imported fossil fuels. But for us fossil freedom does not end with electricity generation – it starts right at the beginning of the supply chain. That is why we are pleased to take this pioneering step together with our partner SSAB, using low emission steel for the substructures. By leading the way as a company, we support the long-term societal goal of becoming fossil free.
This recognition is an important external confirmation of the strength of our sustainability work,” says Ramsköld. It also comes at a time when sustainability ambitions are increasingly being questioned. Our experience shows that it is not only the right direction from an environmental and human rights perspective, but also a sound strategic choice for the company.
I am very proud that we once again are part of the exclusive group of A-listed companies. It shows that we are on the right track towards our Net Zero Target.
Today’s agreement ensures the Independent Distribution Network Operator business can continue to grow and play an important role in further electrification. Vattenfall’s IDNO business has performed extremely well since entering the UK market, which is a testament to the focus and dedication of our colleagues. I want to thank them for all they’ve done and wish them the best as they carry on their good work.
This is another step on the way towards the first Swedish nuclear power construction in over 40 years. Our goal is a successful project on the Värö Peninsula, and by that we mean that there are prerequisites to begin operations within a reasonable timeframe and budget at the site available to us. A successful project also lays the foundation for further nuclear developments. We are already looking at the next step to build additional reactors where Ringhals 1 and 2 are currently located.
I’m pleased to welcome Catrin as Head of BA Wind and member of the Executive Group Management team. She brings strong leadership, deep industry knowledge, and a clear, forward-looking vision – grounded in a solid understanding of today’s realities. I’m confident she will play a key role in driving our strategic ambitions forward.
The energy transition must go hand in hand with the protection of nature. With the Biodiversity Transition Plan 2030, we take a clear stance: we want to be part of the solution – not only by reducing emissions but also by restoring ecosystems, protecting habitats, and fostering innovation that supports both climate and biodiversity goals.
Achieving our goal of a future where everyone can choose fossil free ways to move, make and live, means integrating sustainability into every decision and every part of our value chain. To be recognised by EcoVadis with the highest rating for five years running is a strong validation that we are on the right path – and that we’re continuing to make progress.
We are pleased that Instabox has chosen Vattenfall and our complete solution Power-as-a-Service for charging infrastructure at its logistics terminals in three countries. Vattenfall is responsible for the entire investment for the charging infrastructure which we own and operate. This means that Instabox can focus on their core business of shipment services, while we support their switch to electric vehicles,
This new partnership with Nivos Energia makes both parties stronger and gives both of us increased opportunities to grow in a profitable and sustainable way. I am very optimistic about our way forward.
The start of Sandbank is a further proof to Vattenfall´s strategy of continuing to push the transformation of our production portfolio towards renewable energies.
Geothermal energy is a good complement for owners of single houses in locations beyond the reach of our district heating network and for those who prefer a different solution.
To have the sustainability aspect in focus all the time is increasingly important. It is really satisfying that we have received such a good rating. It is proof of that we are doing the right things.
Entering 2016 a number of fundamental issues needed to be resolved to support the transition of the energy system and to shape the new Vattenfall. Significant progress was made during the year through the lignite divestment, the Swedish energy policy agreement and the German nuclear waste law, resulting in a positive outcome for the company and our customers, together with a reduced risk overall.
We already help our customers drive electric by supplying charging points. With the decision to switch our own fleet we do not only contribute to reducing CO2-emissions in Europe, but we also want to set an example for other companies.
“The demand in the market makes it a natural step for us to move from being a wind power developer and operator to also start providing Danish customers with 100% renewable energy. Vindstød.dk is an innovative, successful and fast-growing company which has pioneered the Danish consumer market”
The third quarter marked an important milestone for Vattenfall. The sale of the lignite operations was a major step in adapting Vattenfall’s operations to new market conditions and a long-term sustainable energy system. We are now pursuing our efforts in forming the new Vattenfall with the customer in focus.
“We have set a clear direction in our strategy and our strategic targets, where sustainability is integrated as a natural component. The agreement to sell our lignite operations shows that we are taking strong measures to adapt the portfolio in the right direction”
Today we have signed an important deal for Vattenfall. This divestment of our lignite assets is good strategically but also financially given current and expected market conditions. We are now accelerating our shift towards a more sustainable production. The sale means more than 75 percent of our production will be climate neutral compared to about 50 percent today.
“I am really pleased that we have been able to recruit one of the top talents within the Swedish communications arena”
“Our partnering strategy is now paying off and delivering additional funds to fulfil our ambitious growth targets within the wind area, thereby supporting Vattenfall’s overall strategy to transform our production portfolio towards renewables. We are really pleased to have established a partnership with AMF and look forward to building a strong relationship going forward,” says Gunnar Groebler, Senior Vice President, Business Area Wind.
