Comment from the Veg of Lund Nomination Committee
The Board of Directors of Veg of Lund has today convened an Extraordinary General Meeting to elect two new Board members. The nomination committee has proposed two persons, Håkan K Pålsson and Magnus Nordin, both with extensive experience in launching and selling fast-moving consumer products.
The Board of Directors of Veg of Lund AB (publ) has today convened an Extraordinary General Meeting to elect two new Board members. The nomination committee’s proposal is based on the fact that the company now is ready for a more intensive marketing and sales phase, and that the board will be a strategic as well as operational support to the company’s management in the launch of existing and new plant-based food products.
“Since last summer, Veg of Lund has successfully launched its potato drink DUG in several markets and we now want to further exploit the market situation. Håkan K Pålsson has been involved in building many companies from the start to achieving great success in a short period of time. One example is the food company First Class Brands of Sweden, which in a short time has grown to sales of around SEK 300 million with stable profitability. Magnus Nordin has experience from, among others, Nestlé Sweden where he was CEO and Sales Director 2007–2019. He has worked for many years with product development and marketing of brands such as Findus, Nescafé and Buitoni, both at Nestlé’s headquarters in Switzerland and in his role as Nordic Marketing Director and CEO of Nestlé Finland and Nestlé Sweden respectively. Both know how to build companies, strengthen market positions and drive sales in different geographic markets,” says Kaj Söderström, Chairman of the nomination committee.
“Veg of Lund is a growth company with patents and products fully in line with the increasing demand from consumers around the world to be able to choose high quality plant-based foods. We aim to quickly reach new customers and consumers and increase sales in existing markets. In this situation, we want the Board to be able to be operational in the company’s key processes such as sales and development of new markets,” comments Kaj Söderström.
