Major extension of Sørlandssenteret
Olav Thon Eiendomsselskap AS and Vital Forsikring ASA, which together own the shopping mall Sørlandssenteret, signed a development contract yesterday with the Veidekke company Br. Reme AS, worth NOK 570 million, for expansion of Sørlandssenteret. The contract is for construction of 73,000 sq m of retail premises and a 37,000 sq m car park.
Executive Vice President of the Olav Thon Group Øystein Trøseid says the project will be undertaken in two phases. Work will start immediately after the summer holidays this year, with phase 1 due for completion in autumn 2011 and phase 2 in autumn 2013.
"This is one of the largest building projects we have ever undertaken, and is a pleasing development of a very successful retail centre for us and Vital Forsikring," says Executive Vice President Øystein Trøseid.
The Veidekke company Br. Reme AS has been chosen as responsible contractor for this major development project. Naturally Managing Director Dagfinn Røkenes is delighted to have won such a large, prestigious contract.
