Veidekke has negotiated a contract as main contractor for the refurbishing works and construction of a new office building of 3,200 sqm in the centre of Oslo. The contract price is NOK 22.5 million.

The oldest part of the building was erected in 1881, and parts of the building have registered for preservation at the Urban Conservation Office.

Refurbishing works
The existing buildings, totalling 776 sqm, are to be completely renovated with new foundations and new floor dividers. The new foundation will consist of steel pillars down to rock. The concrete floor dividers will be poured on the building site and profiled steel plates will be used as sheeting.

New construction
A new building of 2,415 sqm will be erected in the yard behind the existing building. It will have eight storeys in addition to an underground parking lot. The new building will have steel main structures and load-bearing walls made of prefabricated concrete elements. The front of the building will consist of glass and aluminium. There will also be a glass roof above the yard between the new and the old buildings.

The new office wing will have space for approximately 120 offices.
