Veidekke has signed a contract with the Public Roads Administration for construction work on the new mainland-Lofoten connection, which is part of the E10 highway. The new connection will be 30 km long and is scheduled for completion in 2007. The development project is split into five large contracts. Veidekke's contract, worth NOK 92 million excl. VAT, is for a 6.2 km long stretch of the road. The contract concerns earth-moving, construction of 5 km of road above ground and a 1.2 km long road tunnel. The work will start in May and be completed by 1 December 2006.

Veidekke has been awarded a contract for the operation and maintenance of the road system in the Harstad region. This contract covers a network of roads totalling 550 km in and around Bjørvik, Harstad and Lødingen. The work includes everything from cleaning toilet facilities to gravelling/planing roads and winter maintenance and a 24-hour standby service. The work will start in the autumn this year. The contract has a duration of four years and a value of NOK 74 million excl. VAT.

The municipality of Bodø is in the process of developing a new water supply for the town. This development includes a new water treatment plant and in this connection Veidekke has been awarded a contract worth NOK 27 million excl. VAT. This is a turnkey contract for the complete building, excluding processing plant and machinery. The building will largely be cast on site and most of the work will be carried out by Veidekke's own skilled workers. The work will start in May and is due to be finished by 31 October 2006.
