New Contracts for Veidekke's Construction Operations in Jylland, Denmark
Veidekke's Danish subsidiary Hoffmann A/S has recently been awarded two major building contracts in Jylland. Total value of the contracts is approximately NOK 325 million.
"Having worked hard for some time now to adapt the organisation to a somewhat tighter market in Jylland, these two contracts are very important to us," says Managing Director Torben Bjørk Nilsen. "Both the scope of work and the technical challenges of the projects are very well suited for our operations in Jylland," Bjørk Nilsen adds.
Kolding Fjord Park
This contract was awarded by Lejerbo, Kolding and includes the refurbishing of 297 flats distributed among three 13-storey blocks of flats. The contract includes new kitchens and bathrooms as well as new building façades. In addition, common rooms on the ground floor will be renovated. This work includes alteration of main entrances and a general rework of the concrete facades.
The contract is a main contract, which is to be executed in a type of partnering cooperation. This means that the contractor participates in the final design phase along with the architect and subcontractors.
Hoffmann's contract price is approximately NOK 127 million. The design work will start immediately while the renovation work will start in the middle of January 2005.The project will be handed over in the middle of 2006.
Bispehaven
This is also a refurbishing project, which includes renovation of façades, balconies and roof. The façades will be insulated and covered with brick and the balconies will be glassed in. The contract includes a total of 2,000 balconies, 20,000 m2 of roof, 20,000 m2 of brick façades and 30,000 m2 of glass and aluminium.
The contract was awarded to Hoffmann by a housing cooperative, Boligselkabet Præstehaven, Department 6 Bispehaven. The contract price is approximately NOK 198 million. The work will start in the course of November 2004 and will be completed during the autumn of 2006.
