New major road contract at Økern for Veidekke

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has entered into a contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration Eastern Region for construction of road project Rv. 150 Ring 3 Ulven - Sinsen, contract E22 Økern. The value of the contract is NOK 498 million excluding VAT.
 
The Ring road 3 between Ulven and Sinsen currently acts as both a thoroughfare and a local distribution artery. The stretch is approximately 2.5 kilometres in length. In 2005 the annual average daily traffic was 75,600.


The project is subdivided into several larger and smaller contracts and Veidekke currently holds two other contracts: the Økern Metro station (NOK 239 million excluding VAT) and the Løren tunnel (NOK 620 million excluding VAT).


The project is a unit price contract and comprises the approach zones at Økern. The largest objects are three culverts; 2+3 lane concrete tunnel (length approximately 125 metres), 1 lane concrete tunnel (length approximately 250 metres) and 1+2 lane concrete tunnel (length approximately 320 metres).


West of Ring 3 the contract comprises roads, roundabouts and ramps. One three-span and one one-span post tensioned ramp bridges are also to be built under this contract. Two technical buildings related to the Løren tunnel and Økern tunnel respectively are to be built as integrated constructions.


Work starts immediately and is to be completed in 2014.
