Veidekke has been commissioned by AF Gruppen to produce and lay asphalt at the new Mo i Rana Airport that is under construction. The contract is valued at just above NOK 160 million excluding VAT over three years.

“We are proud to have won the year’s third contract for the production and laying of asphalt, now for AF Gruppen and its client Avinor. We will pave the airside with runways, taxiways and aprons, in addition to the land side with parking lots and roads. And the asphalt is local from our factory in Mo i Rana. We really appreciate the assignment and the confidence shown in us,” says Martin Holmqvist, director of Veidekke Asfalt.

In June 2023, AF Gruppen was commissioned to build the new airport including all groundworks, runway construction, technical infrastructure, terminal buildings and operations buildings. Necessary infrastructure such as roads, pavements and cycle paths and water and wastewater facilities for the airport are also included in the contract.

The asphalt contract extends for three years. Startup is in the autumn, while the largest volumes will be laid in 2025 and somewhat less in 2026. Read more about the new airport here.

With this contract, Veidekke has received asphalt assignments worth NOK 2.5 billion excl. VAT so far this year. About half a billion of these orders will be executed in 2025.
