Veidekke: Collaboration on multi-billion project in Kristiansand
Veidekke has won the competition for the first phase of the construction of a new emergency building and municipal health centre in Kristiansand. Now, collaboration between four parties to further develop the important project for patients in Agder will start.
“We appreciate the confidence shown in us and are looking forward to getting started immediately. Veidekke has completed several major hospital projects in recent years and is looking forward to using our expertise in this project too,” says district manager Atle Monan of Veidekke Bygg Agder.
Today, the pre-project contract was signed digitally. The new emergency building and municipal health centre have a total framework of NOK 2.266 billion, where the construction costs amount to around NOK 1.5 billion. Kristiansand Municipality, Sørlandet Hospital, Sykehusbygg and Veidekke will now work together to develop the construction project with the goal of concluding a final construction contract towards the end of 2025.
“Veidekke has won the competition by emphasising the best expertise in project development, among other things, and we have high expectations towards the development of good solutions. In the pre-project we will prove that we can meet the needs of the functions that have been determined within the financial framework that has been set. Veidekke will now engage an architect, consultants and key subcontractors, and we are thus on track for occupation at the end of 2028,” says Terje Bygland Nikolaisen, Managing Director of Sykehusbygg HF.
