Veidekke (Hoffmann) to build for the University of Copenhagen

Veidekke's subsidiary Hoffmann A/S has been awarded the contract for a building for the Universitets- og Bygningsstyrelsen in Copenhagen. The value of the contract is DKK 95 million excluding VAT.

 The contract comprises renovation and construction of two new floors on an existing three-storey building. The total area will be 37,712 m2 in addition to a 6,286 m2 basement.

The user will be the University of Copenhagen - Faculty of Humanities. The building will house the faculty administration, a number of learning functions, a student café and several departments:

 - The Department of Arts and Cultural Studies - IKK - Musicology

 - The Department of Media, Cognition and Communication

- The Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies

- The Department of archaeology, ethnology, history, Greek and Latin

Work has already commenced, and the building is to be handed over in October 2011.
