Veidekke: To build school in Kristiansand
Kristiansand municipality and Veidekke today signed a contract for the construction of Wilds Minne school, which will accommodate 500 primary level students. With high environmental ambitions, the project will emphasise reuse, environmental benefits and innovation. The value of the collaborative design and build contract is NOK 376 million excl. VAT.
The new Wilds Minne school will comprise an area of approx. 6,000 m2, in addition to a 3,500 m2 multi-purpose facility with commercial premises on the ground floor. The 500 students and 60 school staff will be able to enjoy a stunning outdoor area and a school building constructed with extensive use of massive wood and environmentally friendly solutions.
“After long and strong collaboration with Kristiansand municipality and the other parties involved in the development of this sustainable and solid school project, we are happy to see the political process concluded, and excited to finally be able to start construction. We appreciate being entrusted with the assignment,” says Atle Monan, district manager at Veidekke Construction Agder.
Demolition of the existing buildings on the site has begun. Construction work starts in August 2022, with completion in June 2024. Read more about the project here: www.kristiansand.kommune.no/aktuelt/2021/slik-blir-wilds-minnes-skole/
