Veidekke has signed a contract with Stockholm Vatten och Avfall AB for the construction and installation of a treatment plant in Sickla which is part of Stockholm's future wastewater treatment system. The project is an execution contract, where installation will be carried out as a collaborative contract. The initial contract value is approx. SEK 1,440 million, and the project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Veidekke's assignment includes the treatment plant, with pumping stations, technology buildings and staff buildings as well as facilities for pre-sedimentation and removal of coarse matter. The assignment also includes an installation contract which comprises air, pipes, power, electricity and telecommunications as well as installation of various machinery. The project starts with a year of planning in collaboration between contractor and client.

“We appreciate having earned the confidence of Stockholm Vatten och Avfall AB. This is a project of great importance for Stockholm's future development, which we look forward to helping realise,” says Anders Bergsten in Veidekke Anläggning Öst.

A growing Stockholm must take care of its water resources, and with each passing year, more and more people will shower, use toilets, wash and everything else that results in wastewater, which in turn requires treatment. Read more about Stockholm's future wastewater treatment system.

The contract is included in the order book for the current quarter.
