Veidekke is acquiring the site from Solna Stad, and continues to strengthen its position in commercial real estate development under its own auspices. Veidekke will build 23,000 sqm of office premises, 52,000 sqm of residential units and 4,000 sqm of other commercial premises close to the new Hagalund metro station.

Work will start in 2020, and Veidekke itself will relocate its Swedish office to Solnavägen in 2022 when the office section is complete. The first residential units will be ready for occupation when the new Hagalund metro station opens in 2024. The final residential units will be completed in 2028.

"We're looking forward to starting this project, which will exploit the expertise of all of our business areas. By applying all of our expertise, we will take new steps in the market for commercial real estate," says EVP Veidekke Sweden, Jimmy Bengtsson.

The project is just next to the new metro station, but already has good connections to central Stockholm and the centre of Solna. Overall the office premises will accommodate up to 1,200 people.

"Dialogue with Solna Stad has been good, and we're pleased to continue to make history in Solna. Infrastructure is good for both commercial purposes and residents, and Solna has an exciting vision for the future", says Per-Martin Eriksson, Managing Director of Veidekke Bostad.
