Citycon, which is Finland's leading property investment company specialising in shopping centres and commercial properties, has asked Veidekke Bygg Stockholm AB to participate in the development of Liljeholmstorget at Liljeholmen, south of Stockholm.

The contract includes the construction of a new shopping mall of approximately 38,000 m2. Above the shopping area, there will be about 80 apartments, spread over 8,200 m2. The new shopping mall and apartments will be adjacent to an already existing office and commercial building. The contract also includes installation work in a new multi-storey carpark for close on 1,000 vehicles.

The shopping mall will be opened in the autumn of 2009, while the apartments are scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010. The project will be executed as a partnering contract, and the contract value totals approximately 340 million SEK

Liljeholmstorget is one of Citycon's largest development projects and one of 15 projects in Sweden. In all, Citycon owns some 90 shopping centres and commercial properties in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic states, with a total value of more than 20 billion SEK. Citycon has been listed on the Helsinki stock exchange since 1988.
