Veidekke ASA : Veidekke builds car parking in mountain in Ålesund

Veidekke Entreprenør has signed a contract with Aksla Parkering AS to build underground parking inside mount Aksla in Ålesund. This will be a turnkey contract valued at NOK 212 million, excluding VAT.

The car park will be located in central Ålesund, partly under the town park and partly under mount Aksla. Veidekke will build two parallel underground chambers with parking on three floors, separate in and out tunnels, ramps between floors and chambers and two pedestrian tunnels with lifts and stairwells. When finished, there will be parking for approximately 950 cars.

Planning has already begun and construction work starts in January 2014. The new car park will be ready for use by summer 2016.
