Veidekke has entered into an agreement with Vasakronan for the extensive renovation and reconstruction of the Kronan project in Sundbyberg near Stockholm. This work is a collaborative turnkey contract valued at approx. SEK 195 billion, excluding VAT.

“We would like to thank Vasakronan for their confidence and we are looking forward to undertaking yet another project in close cooperation with them. This time we will be involved in the project at an early stage, something which will provide us with the opportunity to develop optimal production methods and create great project results for all the parties involved,” says Linus Wåhlin, Works Manager at Veidekke Bygg Stockholm.

Veidekke will be renovating and rebuilding an existing building which is to be integrated into two other neighbouring buildings. Once completed Kronan will consist of a total of 40,000 m2 of offices which will be used by the Swedish Tax Agency. The project’s sustainability requirements are high and include the installation of a geothermal system. The buildings will be certified in accordance with LEED Platinum, which is the highest rating. The project is scheduled for completion during the autumn of 2021.
