Veidekke subsidiary Seby AS has been commissioned by Oxer Eiendom AS (Fjerdingby Sentrumsutvikling) to construct 60 apartments as well as retail premises in the municipality of Rælingen. The Marikollen Square project has clear environmental ambitions and will be a fossil-free construction site. The contract is a turnkey contract valued at NOK 220 million excluding VAT.

Marikollen Square is a new development of approximately 12,300 m2 with underground parking facilities, retail premises and three apartment buildings. The retail area is located on the ground floor and seven or eight independent retail premises are planned in addition to a Rema 1000 store. Above this central floor, three apartment buildings of three, four and five floors respectively will be constructed with a total of 60 dwellings ranging from 50-120 m2. These have been designed as a mixture of two, three and four-room apartments and the layout has been planned to ensure the best possible sun conditions and views, with at least one balcony or an outdoor area at courtyard level.

“We look forward to getting started on a wonderful residential and retail project together with Oxer Eiendom. Marikollen Square will provide the municipality of Rælingen with a new urban area situated close to the best activities on offer in the municipality. The sustainable solutions employed at all stages of the building project are in line with Seby and Veidekke’s environmental ambitions,” says Bjørn Ove Liavaag, CEO of Seby AS.

Fantastic communal outdoor areas will be established for residents above the retail floor. These areas will include social zones with communal recreational areas and a play area for children. All residents of Marikollen Square will also benefit from access to a communal ski preparation facility and bicycle workshop.

The project will be a fossil-free construction site and ground heat from energy wells will be used as the energy source during the construction phase. Construction is scheduled to start in August 2020 with completion planned for May 2022. Read more about the project here: www.marikollentorg.no

The contract is included in Veidekke’s order book for Q2 2020.
