Veidekke ASA: Construction contract for Bane NOR in Moss
Bane NOR has awarded Veidekke's subsidiary Leif Grimsrud AS the contract for preparatory work for the Sandbukta-Moss-Såstad railway project in Østfold. The contract is worth NOK 265 million excluding VAT.
The contract comprises parts of the preparatory work that has to be completed before a turnkey contractor can start work in 2019. The work starts at Moss station and at Sandbukta north of the town in August, and is scheduled to proceed until the autumn of 2019.
"The contract with Leif Grimsrud AS is of great importance in preparing for the main work due to start in 2019. We're pleased to have locked down this contract," says group director Gorm Frimannslund of Bane NOR.
"This is an important contract for Leif Grimsrud, and are grateful for the confidence Bane NOR has shown in us. We're in the process of strengthening our presence in the Moss area, and this is a very good start for this effort," says general manager Magnar Kristiansen of Leif Grimsrud.
The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for Q3.

Leif Grimsrud is a leading machinery contractor in Østfold that was established in 1957. In 2015 Veidekke acquired 80% of the shares in the company. The headquarters are in Halden, with branch offices in Spydeberg, Hvaler and Strømstad. Leif Grimsrud currently comprises four sections (outdoor environment, coastal environment, railway and construction), 240 employees (30 of these in Sweden) and overall revenues of NOK 650 million (2016).
