Veidekke ASA: Contract for spectacular office building in Malmø
Veidekke has been awarded the contract by Jernhusen to construct the Glasvasen office building with a unique architectural expression just next to Malmø Central Station. This will be a collaborative contract valued at SEK 165 million, excluding VAT.
The contract includes the erection of a six-storey office building that will have 6,000 square metres of office space and close to 1,000 square metres of retail premises at street level, in addition to a parking basement. The flexible office solution can house up 600 workplaces, depending on tenant requirements. On the street level there are plans for shops, restaurants and cafés.
The building will have en extremely modern expression courtesy of Kanozi Architects. Glasvasen will also be an environmentally friendly building with focus on low energy consumption and the use of sustainable materials. It will contain numerous high-tech innovative solutions, and will have environmental certification.
The project comprises the initiation of the Sødra Nyhamnen city district in Malmø. Work will begin in April, and the building is scheduled for completion in October 2015.
