Veidekke ASA: Foundation engineering contract on the Vestfold Line
Veidekke subsidiary Kynningsrud Fundamentering has entered into a contract with Italian joint venture Sa.Pi NOR Salini Impregilo – Pizzarotti ANS concerning works on the Vestfold Line. The contract value exceeds NOK 100 million, excluding VAT.
The contract consists of the supply and driving of approximately 14,000 m2 of sheet pile, as well as drilling and installation of cable stays for what will become two new tunnels at Kopstad and Skottås in the section between Nykirke and Barkåker on the Vestfold Line. The route comprises a total of 13.6 kilometres of double track and is dimensioned for speeds of up to 250 km/h. Kynningsrud Fundamentering will also supply approximately 9,000 metres of steel cores and drilled piles in connection with the new station at Viulsrød, to the south of Skoppum.
“We are grateful for the trust that has been placed in us and we are extremely pleased to land one of our largest ever contracts. The project planning is already well under way and we are now looking forward to the physical work commencing at the site at the end of July,” says Erling Omre, CEO of Kynningsrud Fundamentering.
The work will have a duration of around 18 months. The contract is included in Veidekke’s order book for Q2.
