Veidekke ASA: Housing figures from Veidekke
Veidekke's property development operations in Scandinavia sold a total of 836 homes in 2012 (Veidekke's share 661). Total sales value was NOK 3.3 billion, of which the relative proportion for Veidekke was NOK 2.4 billion. This has created new orders in the company's contracting operations of close to NOK 2.0 billion, which shows that housing development is very important for added value in the group.
- In 2012 our housing development activities have been characterised by Norway having a consistently good market and good sales, while it has been more difficult in Sweden. In Norway, however, we had a slight decrease towards the end of the year because we have had "too little in stock," says head of property development with Veidekke, Arne Giske. In the 4th quarter a total of 165 homes were sold, 126 of which were Veidekke's share. 52 of these were in Sweden.
At year end 1,622 units were in production, and Veidekke's share amounted to 1,277. The sales ratio in the portfolio is 80%.
- We are especially pleased by the added value provided by partnership with our own contractor. This benefits the group, and also gives contracting operations in Veidekke an even better position to work effectively with other property developers as well, says Arne Giske.
