Veidekke ASA: Major contract for Veidekke at Sartor Storsenter
Sartor Senter AS and Thon Sartor AS have awarded Veidekke Entreprenør the contract to expand Sartor Storsenter at Straume in Fjell municipality in Sotra west of Bergen. The contract comprises two turnkey contracts, and the total value of the contracts is NOK 490 million, excluding VAT.
The expansion involves demolition of existing buildings and construction of new buildings. There will be two levels of shops for both principals, and in Sartor Senter AS' section there will be a further three levels including five cinemas and an office level.
Construction work is currently starting up and will be completed in several stages. Everything is planned for completion in the summer of 2016.
"Veidekke is pleased to take on the contract and would like to thank the principals for the confidence they have shown in us. A number of challenges remain with respect to the scale of demolition and construction in a shopping centre in full operation, but through continuation of our good cooperation, we are confident that this will work out well," says District Manager Ingmar Austevoll with Veidekke.
