Veidekke ASA: To build at Stord
Veidekke Entreprenør has signed a contract with Osen 8 AS to build Meierikvarteret, a combined commercial and residential building at Leirvik in Stord municipality. The project will be executed as a turnkey contract valued at NOK 140 million, excluding VAT.
Meierikvarteret will comprise modern and exciting architecture. The apartments, ranging in size from 38 to 109 m2, will have windows designed to let in plenty of light and provide a good view, while the balconies will have good views and at the same time provide privacy. The project has a good, central location in Leirvik, close to the sea, shopping and services in the centre, and at a short distance to nearby outdoor recreation opportunities.
The building's overall size will be around 13,000 m2, and will comprise 46 apartments, around 2,200 m2 of commercial premises (building shell) and subterranean parking. The building will be on bedrock with load-bearing concrete element external walls, prefabricated columns and beams and hollow floor elements. The external façade is primarily chiselled, coloured concrete.
The contract is the result of a development agreement that was signed in the autumn of 2015 between the developer and Veidekke Entreprenør. The contract will be carried out as an internal joint venture between Veidekke Entreprenør Haugesund district and Block Berge Bygg AS at Klepp in Rogaland.
Construction will commence immediately, and the building is scheduled for completion in November 2018. More information on the project is available at http://meierikvarteret.no/
