Veidekke ASA: To build Egersund Wind Farm
Veidekke has signed a contract with Norsk Vind Egersund AS to build Egersund Wind Farm in Rogaland. This civil engineering contract comprises construction of a road network, cable conduits, foundations for wind turbines and a transformer building. The contract is worth NOK 190 million excluding VAT.
Egersund Wind Farm will be built at Åseheia and Kolldalsheia in Eigersund municipality, a few kilometres east of Egersund town. The total electricity output from the 33 wind turbines is expected to be approximately 400 GWh, which corresponds to the consumption of 20,000 households or more than 100,000 electric cars. The project will be located near the planned electricity transmission cables between Norway and Germany and will thus contribute to a cleaner, greener Europe.
This is the third wind farm that Veidekke has been commissioned to build in the last few years, after Lista Wind Power Plant in Vest-Agder and Raggovidda in Finnmark, which opened in 2013 and 2014 respectively. In this project Veidekke will build 20 kilometres of roads for access to and maintenance of the wind turbines, in addition to foundations and assembly areas for the 33 wind turbines at the wind farm.

Work on the project will start in August, and the wind farm is scheduled to be completed and delivering power to the grid in October 2017.
