Veidekke ASA: To build homes in Malmö
Veidekke has been awarded a contract by Magnolia Bostad AB to build 279 apartments in Limhamn in Malmö. This is a turnkey contract valued at SEK 283 million, excluding VAT.
Veidekke will erect two five-storey shells, in addition to a cellar with parking and technical rooms. There will be 129 and 150 apartments in each unit respectively, most of them bedsits and one bedroom. A high degree of prefabrication is planned in the project, for example through the use of bathroom modules and elements for the shell. Planning and production will take place using VDC (Virtual Design and Construction), and through involvement and collaboration between all participators.
"We initiated our first partnership with Veidekke around three years ago, and it has worked out very well without exception. It's only natural that we choose to continue and extend the partnership, and we take a positive view of Veidekke's ability to provide the highest quality this time around too," says Fredrik Lidjan, who heads Magnolia Bostad.
The plan and design work starts immediately, while construction is scheduled to start in the summer with completion in October 2018.
