Veidekke ASA: To build more for OBOS at Vollebekk
This time, Veidekke will be constructing two apartment blocks of four to six floors around a courtyard. There will be 41 apartments in each block, along with basement parking and commercial premises. In situ concrete will be used for the structure, with façades made of brick, plaster and panels.
Vollebekk is located between Risløkka and Lunden Hageby in the district of Bjerke, and for many years it has been known as an industrial area. This is changing thanks to a major urban development project in which large sections will be redeveloped from the ground up. Vollebekk will be a green urban space just 13 minutes by Metro from Jernbanetorget, but at the same time not far from scenic hiking areas and Lillomarka. When it is complete, the new residential project will comprise more than 800 homes in total, with some commercial premises.
Excavation of the plot will commence this week, while the actual construction work will begin after the summer break. The project is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2020. A year ago, Veidekke was awarded the contract to build the first stage of construction comprising 127 apartments at Vollebekk.
