Veidekke ASA: To build new Nye Øyra School in Volda

Volda municipality has awarded Veidekke Entreprenør AS the contract to build Nye Øyra School. This will be a turnkey contract valued at NOK 151 million, excluding VAT.

The contract includes erection of a new teaching building, rehabilitation and remodelling of the pavilion building the administration currently occupies, as well as various outdoor work. The new school will be 7,400 m2 in size, and the site will encompass 22,000 m2. The school will have space for 420 pupils in 15 classes from first to seventh grade, 200 children in the after-school programme, a class for minority pupils and premises for the culture school.

"Building good schools for children and young people is among the most meaningful things we do. We are both proud and pleased with the confidence placed in us, and look forward to commencing work after the holidays," says Rune Eikrem, who heads Veidekke Entreprenør's department in Volda.

Construction work starts in August. The new building is scheduled for completion in March 2017, the pavilion building in August 2017, and outdoor work should be completed in October 2017.
