Veidekke ASA: To build new school in Gol
Veidekke Entreprenør AS has signed a contract with Gol municipality to build a completely new school in the centre of Gol. "New Gol school" is a turnkey contract and will accommodate forms 1- 10 with 750 pupils. The contract is worth NOK 208 million excluding VAT.
The school will be built in virgin terrain and is the first construction stage at the Hallingmo area. The area is close to a community centre, sports facility and upper secondary school, and the area will be developed with emphasis on education, culture and sports. A multi-purpose hall, library, ice rink and culture building are also being considered for the same area.
New Gol school will have a gross area of approx 8,500 m2 excluding storage and entrances. The building will be erected in poured-in-place concrete, steel, hollow floor elements, and beam-supported roofs. Outer walls will be in traditional half timbering with royal-impregnated outer cladding. The building will also contain a multi-purpose room with a stage and telescopic stands.

This is a major contract in our area, and is important to our 44 locally employed apprentices, specialist workers and management who live in the vicinity. It will also be important for many of our local subcontractors and suppliers," says Head of Department Jørgen Holestøl with Veidekke Hallingdal.
The architect is Arkitektene VIS À VIS from Trondheim. Planning is well under way and actual construction will start in September. The building will be ready for use at the start of 2016 school year.
