Asker municipality has awarded Veidekke the contract to build the new health building at Borgen in Asker. This will be a new, detached building for 40 residents next to the existing health building at Borgen. The contract is a turnkey contract valued at NOK 132 million, excl. VAT.

“We are very pleased to have won this project, as health buildings are a priority area for Veidekke. We have previously undertaken several good projects with Asker municipality, whom we perceive as a professional and good customer to work for, and it is therefore especially pleasing that we won the competition for the assignment,” says District Manager Gro Brathovde of Veidekke Bygg Buskerud.

The project will have a total gross area of approximately 4,700 m2, with universal design, located to the west of the current health building. The building will have four storeys including basement with good architectural qualities and features for efficient operation. The building will have a therapy room, exercise room, residents’ room, wardrobe facilities for employees and various other support function rooms for the benefit of residents, relatives and employees. The building will be delivered with an eco-friendly and efficient geothermal heating system, and the project will be carried out as a fossil-free construction site.

Start of construction is planned for October, with completion scheduled for August 2023.
