Veidekke ASA: To build terminal for PostNord
Veidekke has signed a contract with PostNord AS to build a new logistics and sorting terminal at Hanekleiva Business Park in Holmestrand municipality. The contract is a design and build contract valued at around NOK 170 million excluding VAT.
The new terminal with a gross area of almost 15,000 m2 will be an important part of PostNord’s infrastructure plan to support the strong growth in e-commerce expected ahead. Veidekke was selected as design and build contractor after nine contractors initially wanted to submit tenders for the new terminal.
“At Veidekke Logistikkbygg we have specialised in developing and building large logistics and warehouse buildings as turnkey contracts. This was a project we really wanted to win, and in a working partnership with Veidekke Bygg Buskerud, we will resolve this project within the framework set by PostNord. We look forward to embarking on the task and to an interesting and fruitful partnership,” says general manager Roar Kristiansen of Veidekke Logistikkbygg.
Construction work starts after the holidays and the project will be completed in 12 months. The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for Q2 2021.
