Fabege has awarded Veidekke Bygg Stockholm and Veidekke's subsidiary Arcona the contract to build a unique hotel in Stockholm. This will be a turnkey contract valued at SEK 200 million, excluding VAT. The hotel concept has been developed on the basis of increasing interest in wine and wine production.

The Winery Hotel will be located at the northern main access road to Stockholm, within walking distance of Friends Arena. The hotel will have 184 room, and inspiration for the design has been the Wythe Hotel Brooklyn in New York, among other things. As the name indicates, the hotel's theme will be based on wine and wine production. This will characterize the premises' design and appearance, and the hotel will of course produce its own wine. The lobby will provide a view of the oak barrels where the wine matures, and a wine bar immediately adjacent with thousands of bottles organized by origin.

"The fact that Veidekke and Arcona have won the contract is a result of them living up to our stringent demands toward quality, cost-effectiveness and professionalism," says Klas Holmgren, Director of Projects and Development with Fabege.

The partnership between Veidekke and Arcona is based on an involving work process with a common view on HSE, the environment and quality. The vision is a partnership for added value between all stakeholders. This provides reduced costs, better quality and functionality for the customer, and greater efficiency and safety for everyone involved.
