Veidekke ASA: To build Unitech Technology Centre north of Haugesund

Today Veidekke has signed a contract with SIVA AS to build an environmentally certified commercial building with a technology centre for Unitech and an upper secondary school for Vestland county municipality. The contract is a design and build contract valued at approx. NOK 150 million excluding VAT.

“We greatly appreciate the contract and the trust placed in us. We have completed a good interaction phase and are now looking forward to continuing the good partnership with everyone involved in the rest of the project implementation,” says district manager Ove Nedrebø of Veidekke Bygg Haugesund.

This will be a unique centre for learning, problem solving and technology development for ocean-based industry. The technology centre comprises a research and development centre and an educational section with workshop premises for Bømlo upper secondary school. The building will be around 7,500 m2 in size, and will be environmentally certified in accordance with the BREEAM NOR Very Good standard.

Construction work starts in January, and completion is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
