Veidekke has signed a contract with the City of Stockholm to carry out groundwork for a new bus terminal to be located in Katarinaberget by Slussen in Stockholm. The project is an execution contract worth approx. SEK 102 million.

Veidekke's contract comprises groundwork inside the mountain hall that will house the bus terminal, as well as levelling and renovation of the outside area in Klevgränd. Work starts in June 2021 and is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2023.

“We look forward to further contributing to the construction of Nya Slussen, a project of crucial importance for the development of Stockholm, says Björn Samuelsson in Veidekke Anläggning Öst.

Nya Slussen will become a flexible hub in Stockholm's public transport, of which the bus terminal in Katarinaberget, with its many entrances and connections, is a central part. Once the metro is expanded to Nacka, Slussen's bus terminal will mainly be used by the Värmdö buses and a smaller number of Nacka buses.
