Veidekke Entreprenør has been awarded the contract to build a new transport and logistics centre for Posten Norge and Bring at Torgårdsletta, south of Trondheim. The value of the contract is NOK 272 million excluding VAT.

The new transport and logistics centre will be part of Posten Norge's network of terminals for the handling of mail, parcels and freight. The project in Torgård comprises a total of six buildings with a combined area of 26,500 m2. The main components are a cargo hall, post terminal, parking garage and administration building.

"We are going to carry out this project in partnership with Veidekke's subsidiary Norsk Stålbygg in Sandefjord, which has solid expertise in this type of building. This is a prime example of how projects can be undertaken by working together across the Veidekke Group," says Ståle Brovold, District Manager of Veidekke Entreprenør in Trondheim.

"We are very proud and pleased with the confidence that Posten Norge has shown in Veidekke by awarding us this contract. In this project we will use our Participative Planning process to ensure efficient work processes in close collaboration with the client, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the entire project. Now we are looking forward to getting started on the actual building work," says Brovold.

Construction will start in November, and the centre will be completed by February 2017.
