Veidekke Entreprenør has entered into a contract with Nøtterøy municipality to build a new nursing home at Nøtterøy, the Bjønnes nursing home with 78 beds. The value of the contract is NOK 165 million excluding VAT.

The new nursing home will be located next to the existing Bjønnesåsen nursing home at Nøtterøy in Vestfold. In the planning and design of the nursing home focus has been on the residents' special needs and visual and physical proximity to sheltered gardens, nature and walkways. The gross area is 6,900 m2 in three wings of three and four floors plus a basement. The façade will be mostly in brick.

"Cooperation with Nøtterøy municipality is excellent. We are also building the Smidsrød health centre for the municipality, and it will be completed in the autumn. Being selected as contractor for this project too is confirmation that we are competitive and that the municipality appreciates cooperating with us," says district manager Erland Johansen with Veidekke.

Architects are Tønsberg-based Kristiansen & Bernhardt arkitektur interiør AS. Construction will commence in August, and the building will be ready for use in January 2015.
