Veidekke ASA: Veidekke to develop Ullevaal stadium

Veidekke Entreprenør has entered into a contract with Ullevaal Stadion to develop the west stand. This is the final stage of the Ullevaal stadium development and will provide around 3,000 new seats. The value of the contract is NOK 180 million excluding VAT.

The project comprises expansion of the west stand (Bendit corner) at Ullevaal stadium, and entails erecting two new tiers of stands, office space, spectator areas and a closed VIP area.  

The most important work to be carried out:

  • New stand facility with approx. 3,000 new seats (providing a total capacity of 28,500)
  • Building of approx. 160 new office spaces in a new 5th storey for lease to sports-related activities
  • Space in new 6th floor that will be designed for different kinds of events
  • VIP area on 6th floor of approx. 800 m2
  • Two new external staircases for access/escape from 5th and 6th floors
  • Reinforcement of the foundation with piles into rock
  • 800 ton steel load-bearing structures
  • New ceiling with the same height as the rest of the stadium
  • Development of the outdoor areas facing Sognsveien

           
Work will begin in October and is due for completion in the course of 2013. Commercial activities in building will be fully operative during the construction period, and the most important football matches will be played. Certain areas will necessarily be closed off in the various phases of the construction work.
